Hearing
As a child I have done all the yearly hearing checks like everyone else has also done. The other day i was at Barnes and Noble and an elderly man sat next to me. Occasionally he would turn to me and ask me what i just said (every time i had said nothing), he would apologize and tell me about how he was very hard of hearing in his right ear. What he was hearing was two ladies sitting to the left of him...not me. I was wondering if someone could possible explain this to me. Why if he was hard of hearing on his right side, sounds from his left side would appear to be coming from his right?

I don't know if this is a legit answer to your question but it makes sense to me. So when ever my ears are plugged from being sick I normally can only hear out of my left year. When ever someone is talking to me it echos through my head even if they are on the right side or left side of me. I think it is because your brain cant comprehend that only one side of your ear is good of hearing so it just decides to echo. I would maybe check with dreier but that would be my best bet.
