deja vu

In our book it says that 2/3rds of all people have some sort of deja vu sometime in their lives. I don't know about other people but i have it a lot, maybe a couple times a month. The last time it happened was the other day and i was really tired and stressed and the book mentions that being stressed and over tired could affect deja vu. My deja vu's also are never really of something that is going on (example being someone walking passed me) but mine are just of people saying things in a conversation to me. i want to keep track of how I'm doing physically whenever this happens and see if being tired or stress really does affect my deja vu. If you know what affects yours i would be interested in knowing.

Terms from Ch. 9

Algorithm: a logical rule to make sure that the problem you need to solve...is solved.
-instead of going to down each aisle in a supermarket, i look at the list of all the items that is in the store and which isle they are in, this guarantees i will find what I'm looking for.
Insight:a sudden realization of an answer to a problem.
-i always have words on the tip of my tongue that i cannot find when I'm answering questions on written tests, occasionally if i keep thinking about it i will get the word i need to answer the problem i need to answer.
Confirmation Bias: searching for information that supports what you believe and ignore all things that discredits what you believe.
-When writing a paper with a thesis, i always make my thesis first and find information that backs up my thesis and i ignore everything else.
Mental Set: approaching something in one particular way always that may have worked previously.
-When at work and i have to help people to the bathroom on set schedule i usually find that people don't want to get up and use the bathroom even though the doctor recommends a scheduled time. I have found that asking them to help me learn to help people by practicing on them (they also have dementia), this way they think that they are helping other people by going to the bathroom.
Belief Perseverance: the tendency to still believe what you think is correct even when what you think was discredited.
-I still believe in my religion when scientist have credited the "big boom" theory that is believed by most scientist and people today.
One-Word Stage: one to two year olds in a stage of learning how to speak, the child mostly speaks in single words.
-My sister is 2 and she is now in the one-word stage and is learning a lot of words fast but still isn't putting the words together yet.

---- This assignment isn't late because i wasn't here when you assigned it, just didn't want you to forget and give me a zero.

Autism

My sister has autism. Although it is very very slight, if your around her enough you can see some signs. When she was younger the signs were more prominent. She needed to be wrapped tightly (to the point where she couldn't move her arms or legs) in order to go to sleep. She also could spend hours looking at a ceiling fan. I thought the article made a good point that maybe autistic children just don't see a point to copying people. Copying is a social thing to do and autistic children are unequipped socially.

This was one of my favorites because i liked how they went all through Ashwaubenon and took pictures of all the places they talked about. I also thought that their information was very interesting.

This was another one of my favorites because i thought that it was funny and would make people listen more because it was funny. I also liked how it rhymed because it brought something different to the psa's.

Hearing

As a child I have done all the yearly hearing checks like everyone else has also done. The other day i was at Barnes and Noble and an elderly man sat next to me. Occasionally he would turn to me and ask me what i just said (every time i had said nothing), he would apologize and tell me about how he was very hard of hearing in his right ear. What he was hearing was two ladies sitting to the left of him...not me. I was wondering if someone could possible explain this to me. Why if he was hard of hearing on his right side, sounds from his left side would appear to be coming from his right?
